Yahoo Is Kicking And Screaming All The Way

Carl Ichan wants it but Jerry Yang doesn't.
Steve Ballmer wants it, well, maybe yes, oh, maybe not.
Yahoo is on the line right now.
Yang will do whatever he can in order not to join Microsoft which makes Carl Ichan cringe. He just wants the stock to hit $32-34 Dollars.
Everyone in Silicon Valley knows that sooner or later Microsoft and Yahoo need to become one. Everyone but Jerry Yang one of the original founders of Yahoo wants it to happen. It just so happens that Yang owns a big piece of Yahoo and doesn’t want to go to Microsoft. Right now, he’s king of the hill, but if Ballmer takes over Yahoo, Yang may be out of a job. What does that mean? It means he won’t have a place to go to every day when he wakes up. He won’t have anything to do but lie around and count his Billions.
Carl Ichan wants the deal to happen and was very upset when Microsoft walked away a couple of weeks ago. He owns a lot of Yahoo stock and would make some nice money if it sold to Microsoft.
Now, like the line in GODFATHER 3, Just when you thought you were out, “They drag me back in.”
Microsoft is dragging Jerry Yang back to the brim.
They want to see about making a deal and Carl Ichan wants to help them.
Poor Jerry, being a billionaire is hard these days especially when other bigger Billionaires are after your baby.
Why does Ballmer want Yahoo?
Well, there’s this little company named Google and they are growing as a powerhouse on the Internet and as everyone who knows anything knows, the Internet is the new battleground for business.
We are becoming a communication junkie society. Think about this, less than twenty five years ago, you wanted to communication with another business on the other side of town, you sent out a six cent stamped letter, waited about a week for a reply and then started your negotiations. Then the FAX machine came out in the mid 1980’s and you sent that letter out and got a reply sometimes within the same day. Now, you can sit in your outdoor coffee joint, either with your laptop or phone, get on the Internet and communicate instantly with your business opposite on the other side of the world.
Is that powerful?
Oh, yeah and Microsoft wants to be a major player in that little communications that you do, so does Google and that what it’s all about. Well, just multiply your little business transactions by about six billion and you’ll get an idea of the potential money making possibilities of this little communication system.
You see, there is little advertisements on each one of these internet pages and they pay to have their name seen. Again, think about multiplying this by about six billion.
Okay, so now we have an idea of what’s going on.
If Microsoft gets to buy Yahoo, they will have a major foothold on the internet and become a major internet player overnight giving Google almost instant competition.
You have to feel sorry for Jerry Yang because he’s the guy that’s fighting the wind. The wind will continue to blow and poor Yang will be blown away by the hurricane force of Microsoft.
He says he’s fighting for more money from Microsoft and wants more than $34 a share. He might get it from Microsoft, but he will not be happy with it at all.
What he wants is for Microsoft to just go away.
Just like the child who’s afraid of the dark. He’ll hide under the cover and pray that the boogeyman will disappear or that mom and dad will come in and turn on the light to scare away the monsters from the darkness.
Sorry, Jerry.
The lights been on the whole time and the monster you fear is not going away.
